How AI assistants are changing hotel bookings (and what MCP means)
Travellers now plan trips by asking AI assistants. Here is how hotels can be found and booked there — and what the Model Context Protocol has to do with it.
More travellers start planning by asking an AI assistant: “a quiet sea-view hotel for two next weekend”. The assistant answers with a few options. The question for hotels is simple: are you one of them, and can the guest book you directly?
What MCP is
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. A hotel that provides MCP tools lets an assistant check real availability and prices instead of guessing from old web pages.
